The inspiration for this artwork stems from the concepts of the German philosopher Walter Benjamin. He used the term 'Aura' to describe the fundamental essence of art, emphasizing its strength in its original form, occurring uniquely and only once.

The title ‘Persona’ was inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s film of the same name, specifically a shot in the opening credits of a child reaching out to touch a woman’s face on a screen, which is shifting between one face and another. This powerful image struck Ryan and it inspired the album’s main theme — an exploration of the persona, the difference between how we see ourselves and how others see us, the spaces in between; between states, people, light and dark, the inner persona and the outer persona…

‘No Such Thing As Free Will’ is a real hybrid of ideas that come together in a melodic and percussive way; placing the acoustic guitar front and centre in a turning musical machine.
The best way to describe a lot of the tracks on the album is flowing.

The idea behind the artwork translates this flowing guitar sound into visual form.

Schlindwein - Ein elektronisches Requiem

Design

A Requiem is a mass for a funeral and is meant to prepare the soul for the journey into afterlife. "I feel very intrigued by spiritual practices like this and wanted to create my own musical score for it. The foundation for everything comes from ancient Latin texts that have remained unchanged for centuries and have been used by every composer who wrote a requiem. It's a bit like composing music to accompany a poem."

The design combines traditional and classic sensibilities with a contemporary look and feel.
